AudioFormat | |||||
If the automatic audio conversion is enabled, you can use this value to define the audio format which is valid for the table. Whenever someone tries to create a new entry in the table, it is automatically converted to the prescribed format. This value must be a list, separated by spaces or commas, of the following keywords: "Musicam", or "Linear"; "Wave", "BWF", "Musifile", "Raw" or "5.1+2"; "Mono", "Stereo" or "Joint Stereo"; the sample frequency in Hz "32000", "44100", "48000" or "96000"; and the bitrate in kBit/s: "32", "48", "56", "64", "80", "96", "112", "128", "160", 192", "224", "256", "320", "384" (Linear: "16" or "24"). You can add the units "Hz" or "kBit/s" if you like. The order does not matter. An example: "Musicam, Musifile, Stereo, 48000Hz, 256 kBit/s". Hint: for MPEG-Layer3 the fileformat "Raw" means a file with MP3 extension. If you do not specify a category, it is kept unchanged. Example: if you specify "44100 Hz", only the sampling frequency is forced to be 44.1 kHz, all other characteristics are not changed. Hint: If you add the keyword "Quiet" to the list, the conversion is performed without a message box which informs the user that a conversion is necessary. Note: for new recordings you can also prescribe the format with settings in the key "PlayRec" and you can fix these settings, so the user cannot change them. Audio format settings for a table have priority over the format from the PlayRec key.
Since Version 4.2.7149.0 the DBM is supporting the keywords Internal/External as well. In case Sequoia is used to save Audiofiles to such a Table you can choose which application is responsible for the conversion: Internal = DBM will perform the conversion External = Sequoia will perform the conversion (NOTE: Sequoia does not support the MUSIFILE format!) |
